MEET THE TEAM
Mr. Alex Andrade joined the Office of Economic Development in December 2018. Prior to this role, Alex worked for the City of Mountain View for five years as Economic Development Manager. He previously worked for three of the largest redevelopment agencies at the time, which include San Jose, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. He has also held government positions in Menlo Park and Poway and worked as a program officer at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Alex believes in building community trust and credibility and providing businesses and the development community with services and resources necessary to attract, retain, and expand businesses.
Mr. Daniel Degu joined the Office of Economic Development in November 2016. With a varied work experience in both private and public sectors, Mr. Degu coordinates and implements projects and programs that support the Milpitas business community. Mr. Degu is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Urban Land Institute, and was an executive member for the Silicon Valley Economic Development Alliance. His educational background includes multiple Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Arizona, one in Molecular & Cellular Biology and the other in Health Sciences in Physiology, as well as a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from National University.
